Knowledge Level of the Anganwadi Workers on Integrated Child Development Service: A Study in Manipur, India

Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) is a Government program in India that mainly focuses on child and maternal health to address the health, nutrition, development needs of children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, adolescent girls. The Anganwadi workers are front-line who responsible for transferring services ICDS children mothers. As designed vulnerable section society like women it important not only from point view but also socio economic as well better future generation. Success any depends knowledge stakeholders about concept, objective, functions program. grass-root level functionaries implementing at ground level. Their has impact implementation output programme. This paper attempts explore AWWs regarding activities their different nutrients its source importance which will act guide policy makers, planners, extension functionaries, scientist, researchers, students personnel. For this purpose 150 respondents Imphal East, Manipur were selected randomly interviewed with structured schedule. data analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. finding study revealed majority had medium objectives ICDS. Further was found 16 per cent high Vitamin A, 4.67 Iron, 0 Calcium 15.33 C respectively. Moreover, age experience negatively significant relationship while educational qualification correlated positively. Thus, present strongly felt need improving quality awareness among various nutritional requirements mother regular training, orientation programs along group discussion observations.
